Utilizing and re-thinking learning styles in the adult classroom

Some are musical, some are analytical, others are the writers and talkers. How do learning styles play a role in the adult ed. classroom when it comes to instructional design??

Paying educators to obtain additional degrees and training

At present, this educator is pursuing an advanced degree in education at the cost of around 50,000.00.  There is absolutely no district, state, or federal contribution to this cost other than providing the loan dollars. 
Shouldn't educators receive dollars towards furthering their education?  Certainly the pay is not adequate for the job in the 21st Century!1

Contract hours for teachers and working overtime

Most teachers have contracts for worktimes and workdays; however, the job is never done.  Although teachers cannot be paid for every hour worke, there should be pay when it goes well beyond the school day to do the job.  Do you think there should be extra pay when teachers stay to get the job done, attend a meeting, or any other required job duty??

The first year of teaching is full of wonderful events, not just the struggles.  These memories live on throughout the lives of teachers for the rest of their lives. 

educating gifted students

Dollars are given to states for gifted education to use basically as they see fit, even without providing any direct services to students.  Most resources are now used to meet the needs of struggling students.  We should also find ways to provide education to the gifted students as well.  Their needs are as important as those that are struggling or below grade level. 

zero tolerance in schools

Zero tolererance is in effect in most schools regarding drugs, weapons, and in many schools fighting. Students are suspended with possibility of expulsion. Is this the only way that this can be handled, particularly when it comes to first time offenses for drugs (drug use) and fighting?
